Working with children has always been a passion of mine. I like helping create a caring and loving environment in which children can flourish. In my teen years I was the family babysitter and knew since then that I wanted to work with children. I grew up in Hayward, California with four brothers and one sister. I love the Bay Area and all that it has to offer. I studied Early Childhood Development and have worked with preschool aged children for twelve years in different capacities; volunteering, teacher’s aide, and lead teacher. I am bilingual in Spanish and English. I know the students at RLS are already learning Spanish and I can’t wait to practice with them. I am excited to begin a new chapter of my teaching career at RLS and looking forward to collaborating with the teachers, parents, and the students. I value the importance of children learning through play and exploration and will bring different art materials to inspire the students to create. Their creativity never ceases to amaze me. Although, my favorite part of the day with children is reading to them. I hope to foster their imagination with books and inspire a lasting love of reading. My family is very important to me and I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two sons, and our new baby girl. We enjoy going on hikes, building Lego structures and puzzles together, and visiting with our extended family and friends. Taking pictures is my biggest passion next to teaching. I like to capture the moment and I can always find a perfect backdrop in the Bay Area. I am happy to be a part of such a welcoming community at RLS.
