Teacher

I started working in the childcare field 7 years ago as a teacher’s aide at an elementary school while pursuing my ECE units. I developed a strong desire to work exclusively with preschool age children and thus began my journey as a teacher. I have always really valued child development and wanted to be a part of children’s lives in an impactful way. Since getting my core ECE units in 2016, I have worked in private homes as a nanny, gym daycares, and preschool settings. I completed my associate degree in psychology and will be getting my bachelor’s in psychology from California State University East Bay soon.

My affection for early childhood education and teaching stems from my own experiences in childhood at home and at school. As an adult I was able to realize how crucial a child’s formative years are and how much of an affect parents and teachers have on a child’s development. Being a teacher is such an honor and a privilege. Having the opportunity to cultivate meaningful relationships with children and play a role in their learning and growth is a true gift in my life.

Outside of teaching, I really enjoy yoga, running, hiking, and anything that involves being active. I love traveling and have been fortunate enough to visit 3 countries so far! In the classroom, I love bringing art and nature into a child’s learning experience. I am a firm believer in open-ended art and giving the child room and space to create in their own way. I feel so lucky to be a part of the Rockridge Little School community and cannot wait to play, learn, and grow together!
